I’m passionate about helping recruiters feel truly confident in their BD skills because I believe that’s what makes all the difference. A lot of success in BD comes down to how confident you feel in yourself, and that’s what I focus on helping recruiters achieve.

Over the past 13 years, I’ve done it all—recruiting across multiple sectors, leading a 50-person agency as COO, and running my own retained search firm, Spencer Lane. In 2020, I took all that experience and founded Hume Scope, where we’ve trained over 3,000 recruitment professionals and agency owners with practical, hands-on training.
I love what I do, and it’s my happy place helping recruiters unlock their potential and master client conversions and reverse marketing strategies.

I also co-founded KBFC, a management consulting firm that works with recruitment agencies on everything from Finance, People, and Operations to Sales and Marketing.

At the end of the day, I want recruiters to feel empowered to approach BD with confidence, knowing they have the tools and mindset to succeed. My training is all about real-world application—I keep it practical, down-to-earth, and something you can take away and use straight away.

With over 10 years in recruitment, my career has been all about working with agecnies across New Zealand, the UK, and Australia. From setting up cold desks to growing businesses, I’ve always focused on building real relationships and doing BD in a way that adds genuine value.

For the last 5 years, over 90% of my revenue has come from what I call intelligent reverse marketing. For a long time, I thought everyone did it this way, but I later realised that what most people consider reverse marketing is very different from the approach I’ve found so successful. Now, I’m passionate about teaching recruiters how to use reverse marketing in a way that actually works—helping them understand the true power of matching the right candidates to the right clients.

I’ve also spent years managing teams and driving success in various markets, always with a focus on team growth and innovation. I love seeing recruiters thrive by using practical strategies that make an immediate impact.
